How Unstable Feeding Tension Triggers Partial Thread Defects on Aluminum Caps

After years of on-site debugging and after-sales service for aluminum thread cap and tamper-proof cap production lines, we've noticed that unstable coil feeding tension is a very common but easily ignored issue in metal cap manufacturing.
How Raw Material Quality Changes Cap Making Results
Many cap producers only focus on machine running speed, paying little attention to tiny tension changes during material feeding, in our daily machine commissioning work, we found that even subtle up-and-down tension changes during continuous feeding will create uneven stress on aluminum sheet blanks. When stress builds up unevenly on the metal material, one side of the cap blank will bear extra pressure in the threading process, this gradually leads to partial thread distortion, skewed thread grooves and unstraight cap bodies.

What makes this problem tricky is that these defective caps look fine visually, workers can still screw them onto bottles smoothly during assembly, so the flaws are hard to catch in early manual checks, the problems only show up in later pressure tightness tests, causing unexpected product rejects for manufacturers.
Yantai Kunpeng's Aluminum Threaded Cap Production Line: Fix Deformation & Boost Bottle Fitting
Most conventional feeding equipment can only keep fixed feeding tension, which cannot adapt to slight speed changes of aluminum coils during long-hour continuous operation, based on our practical machine manufacturing experience, we upgraded our feeding structure with a servo constant tension module.

This system tracks real-time material operation status all the time and makes subtle tension adjustments automatically, it does not pursue over-perfect stress control, but just keeps steady and balanced stress on aluminum materials throughout blanking and threading. From our field feedback with long-term clients, this steady feeding design effectively relieves most thread partial deformation issues, and fits well with daily long-time continuous production of metal caps.
